Math And Parent Partnerships: Involving Parents in the Mathematics of the Schools, Changing Attitudes about Mathematics, and Raising School-Age Compentencies in Mathematics
- Imagine parents getting together with other parents to do math and having fun doing it!
- Imagine parents helping their kids with math homework!
- Imagine families becoming micro-communities of math learners!
A MAPPS Program turns these imaginings into reality.
A MAPPS Program engages parents of K-12 children in the mathematics of the schools. The Program empowers parents with new mathematical knowledge and with new self-confidence about learning mathematics, creates families that learn mathematics together, improves children's compentencies in mathematics, and gets the broader community embracing mathematics as something everybody can do and enjoy.
