The following information is subject to the UA Policy concerning Special Examination for Credit or Grade.
Obtaining math credit from AP tests
Students usually take Advanced Placement (AP) tests in high school after completing an AP-level high school course. Additional information on AP tests is available at the College Board AP Test Website.
The following three Advanced Placement (AP) tests can lead to UA MATH credit: Math Statistics, Calculus AB, and Calculus BC. The type and amount of credit is determined by the UA Policy for AP Program.
To obtain the credits, you must have your AP scores sent directly to the UA. (Tests are given in May and scores are sent in July. For more details, consult the College Board Calendar. To have scores from a previously-taken AP test sent to the UA, contact the College Board Grade Reporting Service.)
You can view your Student Academic Progress Report (SAPR) in Student Link. (Be sure to generate a new SAPR if you believe information to be out of date.)
Once scores are received and processed by the UA Registrar's Office, college credits are automatically assigned and will show up on your SAPR.
Students who receive a score of 4 or 5 on the AB or BC calculus exam are eligible for honors sections of our courses during your first semester at UA.
Obtaining math credit from CLEP tests
Additional information on College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests is available at the College Board CLEP Website.
The following four College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests can lead to UA MATH credit: College Algebra, Trigonometry, College Algebra & Trigonometry, and Calculus with Elementary Functions. The type and amount of credit is determined by the UA Policy for CLEP Program.
The fastest way to obtain credits from CLEP tests is to take the CLEP test on the UA campus through the ULC Testing Office. Otherwise, you must have your CLEP scores sent directly to the UA. (To have scores from a previously-taken CLEP test sent to the UA, contact the College Board CLEP Score Reporting Service.)
You can view your Student Academic Progress Report (SAPR) in Student Link. (Be sure to generate a new SAPR if you believe information to be out of date.)
