Pima Community College Courses

Pima County Community College offers two algebra courses, Pima MAT 092 (Elementary Algebra) and Pima MAT 122 (Intermediate Algebra). These courses are available for UA students whose UA math placement code is 050 (Pima MAT 092) or 100 (Pima MAT 122). If you took the UA Math Readiness Test (MRT) and have a placement code of 000 or do not have a code, then you must take the Pima College Placement Test to place into a Pima math course.

In addition to being offered at various local community college campuses, these Pima courses are often offered on the UA campus itself, but registration and fee payments are always made through Pima. Pima MAT 122, if taken by Fall 2008, may count toward a student's full time status for some financial aid programs. Contact the UA Financial Aid office for more information.

Once you complete the Pima mathematics course with a grade of C or better, please bring or fax a copy of your Pima transcript to the UA Math Placement Office to obtain an updated UA math placement code. Include you UA SID. The student's name and institution's name must be printed on the transcript as part of the original document. (Completing Pima MAT092 leads to placement code 100, while completing Pima MAT122 leads to placement code 200.)
