Overview
The successful candidate will work with the Institute for Mathematics and Education management to oversee the implementation and dissemination of the Intel Math Program across the nation. This is a one-year position with the possibility of continuation depending upon performance and funding.
About
Intel Math is a professional development program for K-8 mathematics teachers. It puts emphasis on problem solving and conceptual understanding. It is based on collaboration, and is facilitated by both mathematicians and educators. The IM&E, which has been selected by Intel as the Intel Math National Training Agency, will be responsible for the dissemination of the Intel Math program at the national level.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will:
- Coordinate the recruitment and training of senior trainers and instructors.
- Work with state and local education agencies to identify adopting sites and sources of funding.
- Establish program delivery protocols and enforce high delivery standards.
- Help to increase the visibility of the program through website development and representation at conferences.
- Work in collaboration with a professional evaluator to monitor the success of the program and improve its quality.
- Write reports to the funding agencies.
Qualifications
A Masters degree (or higher) in mathematics education or in mathematics with knowledge of mathematics education, and experience in implementing or coordinating a large-scale program is required. The successful candidate will possess good organizational skills, have knowledge of funding opportunities and experience with fund-raising, have excellent communication and people skills and have experience with website development.
Compensation
$75,000-$80,000 DOE
