These unique three-year post-doctoral positions are jointly supported by the University of Arizona's VIGRE grant and the UA Biology Departments' Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) grant. We seek an individual with strong research focus and promise in the area of Mathematical Biology and also an interest in developing novel curricula and educational experiences for undergraduates at the interface between mathematics and biology.
The VIGRE/HHMI post-doc will be expected to pursue a research program with strong potential for establishing a successful career in Mathematical Biology, to interact with faculty and graduate students, and to participate in educational activities related to their career development. VIGRE post-docs teach one course per semester. The post-doc will also be directly involved in helping faculty to design and/or teach mathematics courses at the undergraduate level that will incorporate relevant content from the life sciences.

By the time of the appointment, candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. and an excellent research record or potential. To be eligible for this position, the applicant must be a US citizen, national, or permanent resident and must have held the Ph.D. for no more than 18 months at the beginning of the appointment. Exceptions may be possible with prior NSF approval.
