Quantum Scattering in the Energy Domain 2

Mathematical Physics and Probability Seminar

Quantum Scattering in the Energy Domain 2
Series: Mathematical Physics and Probability Seminar
Location: MATH 402
Presenter: Bill Faris, University of Arizona

These are expository lectures about scattering theory in non-relativistic quantum theory. The first lecture will treat the equivalence between time and energy formulations. It will also present a remarkable result of Kato that shows how the integrals may be estimated pointwise in energy.

The second lecture will cover a general method of getting the pointwise estimate and an application of this method to Schrodinger operators. This is (mainly unpublished) work of Lavine. Notes on the first lecture will be distributed before the second lecture.
