An Update on Werner's Measure on Self-Avoiding Loops on Riemann Surfaces and a Conjecture of Cardy
Series: Mathematical Physics and Probability Seminar
Location: MATH 402
Presenter: Doug Pickrell, University of Arizona

Fifteen years ago Werner proved the existence and essential uniqueness of a natural family of measures on self-avoiding loops on Riemann surfaces. Shortly thereafter, Cardy conjectured a remarkable formula, depending on a modular parameter, for the Werner measure of self-avoiding loops going around a finite type annulus (which in principle determines Werner's measure completely). There are other conjectures involving conformal welding which are incompatible with Cardy's conjecture. In this talk I will describe some consequences and tests of these conjectures.
