Abstract: In this interactive tutorial session, Andrew Arnold and Maxwell Thurm will lead a discussion on the utility and philosophy of a structured note-taking system, with particular focus on the increasingly popular Zettelkasten system and its use for an aspiring PhD. The exposé will culminate in a hands-on opportunity to put a note-taking philosophy into practice by creating physical notecards. Aspects of digital note-taking software such as Obsidian, Notion, and reference manager Zotero will also be reviewed. Bring pens and pencils. Index cards will be provided, but feel free to bring your own supplies!
