Parallelism for the Mathematician
Series: Program in Applied Mathematics Brown Bag Seminar
Location: Hybrid: Math 402/Online
Presenter: Christian Cooper, Program in Applied Mathematics, University of Arizona
A talk about the primary concepts used in parallel computing geared toward those with a mathematical (and not primarily computer science oriented) background. While the concepts will be taught alongside C code, the talk is oriented at anyone with an interest in using the concepts in parallel computing to their advantage. A large part of the talk focuses on the theoretical problems posed by the introduction of parallelism, and how we circumvent these problems.
