Generalized Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Equations and Optical Collapse of Ultrashort Pulses

In this talk I will discuss modern approaches to modeling intense, mid infrared laser pulses on the timescale 10-100 femtoseconds. This problem is interesting as it requires cross fertilization between various disciplines such as physics, computation, and PDE analysis.
