Upper Division Classes

Series: Mathematics Instruction Colloquium
Location: ENR 2 S395

We will round out our semester long investigation into different class formats with a panel discussion on upper division classes (323 and higher). Jason Aubrey, Diane Holcomb, Robert Indik and Dan Madden will be our panelists. Some of the questions they will answer are below but feel free to come with your own questions (or answers!) and join in on the discussion!

What do students know coming into upper division classes? What do you wish they knew better?
What do you expect out of your students?
How do you give feedback to students?
How do you make expectations clear to your students/help them transition into higher level classes?
What types of class format/assessment have you found works well in your upper division classes? Is there anything you have found that doesn't work well? Anything you'd like to try?
