[CANCELLED] Leveraging Unconventional Data for Public Safety
With 8.4 billion “things” connected to the internet in 2017 we have more data available about the world around us than any other point in human history. The data that these sensors produce, when combined with the universe of sensors available, can lead to compelling insights about the social stability of regions, provide early warnings of natural disasters, and help direct emergency responders to where they are needed most. Successfully employing these sensors requires new techniques for accessing massive amounts of distributed data and new algorithms for finding patterns and underlying signals.
