Grade Faster, Teach Better: An Introduction to Gradescope

Series: Tools You Can Use
Location: ENR 2 s395
Presenter: Andrew Gillette

Gradescope is an online tool that "streamlines the tedious parts of grading so you can focus on what you do best: giving great feedback." Instead of grading written quizzes or tests by hand, you can scan them into a single pdf file, upload the file to the Gradescope server, grade using their online service, and return work electronically to all your students with customized comments. This tool is currently used by a number of faculty, instructors, and graduate students in our department and is being considered for wider adoption at the university. At this "Tools You Can Use" event, I will give a demo of the Gradescope workflow and highlight some of its time-saving and student feedback features. Bring a laptop if you would like to take a test run for yourself this semester!
