Organization:
The workshop ran from 9 am to 10 pm each day with the evening session on the last day replaced by a much needed party. Work time was divided roughly evenly between lectures and problem solving sessions. The lectures were organized into several series on core topics like analysis, algebra, and topology-geometry (with content based on a document called What every incoming student is expected to know). There were problem sets corresponding to each lecture series, and significant projects in which groups of students learned some new mathematics and presented it in a 1-hour lecture at the end of the workshop. There were also a couple of sessions on practical matters like students' trajectory through the program and internships.

- Lecture series and exercises:
- Projects: (The first four are the ones students chose to pursue at the workshop. The fifth was done by some of the senior students.)
- Bill Velez held a feedback session with the students a few days afer the workshop. On the whole they found it very valuable, but there were some suggestions for improvement.
