How to create/use personal Address Book entries

The documentation below is old and will not be updated. We encourage users to switch to one of the supported clients (see above).

Export Pine addressbook to Thunderbird (and possibly other email clients)

  1. open pine
  2. go to your address book (press A)
  3. choose the address book you want to export (maybe .addressbook)
  4. type ; then A to select all entries
  5. type A for Apply then S for Save
  6. then E for export and T for TabSep and choose a name (like abook)
  7. Open Tbird and then the address book
  8. Go to Tools->Import->Address Books->Next->Next
  9. Choose "All Files" from the drop-down and browse to your saved address book and click "Open"
  10. Uncheck "First record contains field names" and click "Ok"
  11. This should create a new address book with your Pine entries
