How to create/use e-mail distribution lists (aliases)

Here we describe how to create and use your own personal e-mail distribution lists (as opposed to the system-wide department aliases documented on our intranet page). It is assumed that you are already familiar with creating/using address book entries.

The documentation below is old and will not be updated. We encourage users to switch to one of the supported clients (see above).

Note: Above we documented the most common e-mail clients in use within our department. But almost all e-mail clients, including online ones like Yahoo and Hotmail, support the use of distribution lists. Usually that feature is accessed, in some form or another, from within the client's Address Book.
