Mathematics Building Network

The four math department buildings (Math, MTL, Math East, Cesar Chavez) are each connected by a fiber-optic gigabit line to the campus backbone, which in turn is connected in multiple ways to the worldwide internet. Concerning the main Math building, gigabit fiber-optic lines service a switch on each floor, and 100 Mbit go from the switch to each office. (Most offices have 2 ports; larger ones have 3.)

For the curious (and not easily frightened): network diagrams and other boring technical information is available on our intranet system pages.
