Wireless access to building network

UITS controlled wireless network access is available in Math, MTL, and Math East.

The wireless network in the Math buildings is run by UITS. Please use the UITS wireless webpages to get connected.

Please note: when connected wirelessly you are not on the local Math network. You will not have access to printers or the intranet. If you need printer or intranet access then it is recommended that you use a wired connection.

Policies:

In mid-April 2005, the computer committee adopted the following policy: Individuals may not set up their own wireless access points within mathematics department buildings. (You may also not set up a wireless router, or configure your computer's wireless equipment to broadcast ad hoc signals. The point is that improperly configured devices can compromise our network's security, as well as interfere with the signals from the campus-provided wireless network. Your cooperation is appreciated.)
