Locally-installed software on Windows systems

This is a list of publically available or purchased software installed locally on Windows-based systems. This is what you will find in M103, in the grad labs, and on faculty desktop machines. We have a page on how to request changes.

Note: This list does not mention software that comes standard with Microsoft Windows XP. The purpose of this page is to track ways in which our systems differ from a standard Windows XP install.

For documentation, try the following:

  • Start the software and try using the Help menu.
  • Point your web browser to the software's homepage (see the table below); often, you will come across online documentation.
  • Consider giving a SWIG talk to members of our department on the use of a particular piece of software and writing some online notes to go with your talk. We'll post your notes on the SWIG site and link to them from the table below.
