Major Degrees
The mathematics major is designed to meet many different needs. Our programs allow the student to choose from several options that are each tailored to the individual's talents, interests, and career goals. A student may prepare for a variety of careers by selecting the appropriate option and minor. Students choosing a mathematics major can take advantage of the full range of mathematical resources available on campus.
The University offers two different major degrees in mathematics:
Minors in Mathematics
The University offers two different minors in mathematics:
- Mathematics Minor [2009–10 Requirements, Past Catalog Requirements]
- Mathematics Teaching Minor [2009–10 Requirements, Past Catalog Requirements]
Each requires at least 18 units of coursework in mathematics. Note that while the Mathematics Minor is available to everyone, the Mathematics Teaching Minor is available only to elementary and secondary education teaching majors.
