You officially declare a major in Mathematics or in Engineering Mathematics by contacting the Math Center to schedule an appointment with the Math Center Coordinator and Advisor.
When you meet with the Math Center Coordinator and Advisor, you will get general information and advising about the various tracks of the major, and be assigned a faculty advisor for more personalized in-depth advising. In addition, you will receive information about opportunities for math majors to get involved in research experiences, internships, campus activities (including the MathCats), and career exploration.
To officially declare a minor in Mathematics or in Mathematics Teaching, send your request by e-mail to the Math Placement Coordinator (placement@math.arizona.edu), being sure to include your full name and the last four digits of your student ID number.
