18 March: New assignment
posted on the Assignments page! Grades have been
updated on D2L. Please inform me of any errors in the record. 9 March: See a correction
of a mistake we made in class on slide 4 of today’s power point! Exam 2 is on
Wednesday, March 11. Drop deadline is Tuesday, March 10. Please see me if you
have questions regarding your grade! 23 February: Please turn in
Exploration 3.1 so it can be recorded and your grade updated. Sorry for the
inconvenience! 19 February: Your grades
through the first exam are available on D2L (use the UA NetID
Login here).
It is important that check your records with mine and let me know about any
errors you may find. If you have less than a 65% in any category (Exam,
Homework, or Other), you should make an appointment to talk with me about
your progress in this course. See my schedule above for times when we are
both available and email me to make an appointment. 18 February: Note that the
homework has been updated since the Exploration 3.13 was posted this morning.
That is, H8 is now posted. 11 February: Solutions to the
practice problems have been posted on the assignments page. See pptx from
Today’s class (posted this afternoon) to see some guidelines for the exam. 8 February: Some practice
exam questions have been posted on the assignments page. Keep in mind that on
the exam you may be asked to explain your strategy for a selected number of
the problems. Remember – Exam 1
is Friday, February 13! Also, Monday’s
office hour is moved to 12-1pm in the MATHE LOBBY due to a scheduling
conflict. 31 January: H5 has been
updated to reflect which section the problems are coming from! More fun with
place value and base __! 28 January: Note the new way to keep track of which homework: Homework
assignments are now preceded by an H and the Assignment #. Please include
this H# on your assignments. (So the homeworks we
have turned in are H1, H2, H3ab (a and b because two
parts were assigned on different days)). The next homework is due on Friday,
this is H4. 26 January: Note the correction
made in the exploration assignment due on Wednesday. You only need to do the
assigned problems from PART 1: Addition of Exploration 3.1. We will
come back and look at “PART 2: Subtraction” later. 25 January: The tentative class schedule has been
posted through the first exam. The tentative schedule is only tentative –
that is, we may deviate from the schedule and it may not be updated online.
Exam dates are also tentative but should be announced in class 1 week before
they will actually occur. As evidenced with
Exploration 2.8, it is wise not to start an exploration until it has been
assigned or started in class. We may only do the exploration in part or
instructions may be altered etc. 22 January: Instructor
schedule has been updated! Follow the link above to discover all of the times
(both scheduled and unscheduled) your instructor is available and happy to help you with MATH 302A!
Note two office hours will be held in the Math East Lobby, while the last
office hour will be held in the Math building (MATH 303). 21 January: The notes we made
on the smart board on January 16 are now available in the January 16
PowerPoint presentation. 20 January: Note change in LOCATION and TIME of today’s
office hour. Due to a conflict
arising today, my office hour will be moved to 1:00 - 2:00pm
in the MATH EAST LOBBY on Tuesday, January 20. 16 January: I will be holding
an office hour at 1:30 - 2:30pm in MATH 303 on Tuesday, January 20. The currently
posted PowerPoint from today’s class will not include the notes we made on
the smart board. Once I am able to post the new notes, I will put up a new
announcement. The original slides will be available. The additional
policies sheet handed out in class today is available on the course policy
page. 12 January: This web page is
under construction. Check back later for more information (and links that
work)! |
