The Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona provides and
maintains the following computing ressources.
- Building network:Internet access to most of the offices in
the Department Buildings, with additional ports in MATH 103 and 401N.
- Accounts on the Mathematics server, where users have a limited
amount of disk space, can set up their home webpages and receive mail.
These accounts are backed up regularly.
- A Mathematics
web server, listserv and
WebMail server.
- A computer room for faculty and visitors (MATH 103) with LINUX and
Windows machines.
- Two computer rooms for graduate students (MATH 227 and 224)
with LINUX and Windows machines.
- A pool of laptops for instructional activities.
- Two computer instruction labs (MATH 101 and MATH 102).
- Software and hardware support for the graduate and
faculty/visitor labs and for instructional laptops.
- Software and hardware support for the administrative staff.
Software support for faculty office computers is available through
the University CCIT (Call 621-HELP or visit the
University online
support website).
Hardware maintenance for faculty office equipment not
covered by the manufacturer's warranty can be purchased through a State
contract.
