|Bio:||Kathleen is a first year CEMELA fellow. She has a B. S. in Electrical Engineering (with a minor in Mathematics) and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and later completed a graduate level secondary education program at San Francisco State University leading to a California single subject (math) credential with supplementary authorizations including science for teaching grades 6 through 12 and adults. Her teaching experiences include: student teaching in a culturally diverse high school in San Francisco, four years teaching middle school math and science in the Bay area, six years teaching middle school math in Charlotte, NC. |
Her research interests include student learning, academic language, and math discourse. She is a doctoral student in Teaching and Teacher Education at the University of Arizona.
