Kathleen Ross

Graduate Student

Bio: Kathleen is a first year CEMELA fellow. She has a B. S. in Electrical Engineering (with a minor in Mathematics) and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and later completed a graduate level secondary education program at San Francisco State University leading to a California single subject (math) credential with supplementary authorizations including science for teaching grades 6 through 12 and adults. Her teaching experiences include: student teaching in a culturally diverse high school in San Francisco, four years teaching middle school math and science in the Bay area, six years teaching middle school math in Charlotte, NC.

Her research interests include student learning, academic language, and math discourse. She is a doctoral student in Teaching and Teacher Education at the University of Arizona.
