I'm James P. (JP) Cossey, a postdoc in the math department of the University of Arizona. If you're looking for the Australian guy who does finite group theory (no relation), you're in the wrong place.

Jobs: Those wanting to look at my job application materials can look here.

Research: If you want to know about my research, check out my research page .
We organized The Southwestern Group Theory Day, a group theory conference here in Tucson (many props to Ryan and Klaus for their mad organizing skillz).
The University of Arizona Group Theory Seminar .
Here is the old webpage of the group theory seminar (i.e. Spring of 2006).

Teaching: Course webpages are here:

If you want to come to my office hours, they're at:
  • Mondays 2-3
  • Wednesdays 10-11
  • Thursdays 3-4
And if you're really desperate, and can't make the office hours, email me.
Here's my schedule for the spring semester.

This page has the webpages for the courses I've taught in the past.

Math Links:
Here are some useful math links, if you're in to that kind of thing.

"Fun" links Because I've heard it said that there are things in the world that are "fun", but that have nothing to do with math. I know what you're thinking, and I find it hard to believe too. But this apparently is the opinion of some highly educated people. (Of course, they probably didn't get their degrees in math...)
