• Course information WARNING: As of now, this is the handout from last semester. However, all of the information is still accurate, its just that the dates are not yet correct. It will be updated with the correct dates as soon as I can.
• Here is the form that you will need to turn in with each homework, signed by all of the group members. Homework cover sheet . You can download the file and adjust it accordingly for each homework.
• IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: From now on, the homework will be turned in individually. You may still work on it in teams if you like, although you're strongly encouraged to do a lot of it yourself. This has two benefits: It will help to bring your "individual" part of your grade above 55 percent, if you need it, and it will also help you to learn the stuff better, I think. To that end, here is the individual homework cover sheet.

  • Data for the first project is here. As fun trivia, try to figure out what the names have in common.
  • Here is the form I'll be using to evaluate your preliminary reports, which will be done in class on Monday, January 30th. Each group will have to do one, and they will be 3 to 5 minutes long.
  • Here is an outline of your team contract , which you will tweak for your particular team. Your final draft of your team contract must be typed, and will be due Monday, January 30th with your preliminary reposrts.

  • An outline for your final reports.

  PROJECT 1 ANNOUNCEMENTS: The schedule for the near future is as follows:

  • Wednesday the 22nd is review for the exam
  • Friday the 24th is the exam on the first half of the semester
  • Monday the 27th we'll be talking about the project.
  • Wednesday the 1st we'll be taking the project quiz (about half an hour or so), which will cover all topics related to the actual project you're doing.
  • Friday the 3rd we're starting the project presentations, and we'll do Teams 2, 4, and 6 (10 minutes for each team, followed by five minutes of questions for each team).
  • Monday the 6th are the project presentations of Teams 1, 3, and 5.
  • The reports will be due Wednesday the 8th.

  PROJECT 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS: The schedule for the near future is as follows:

  • Friday the 28th is the project quiz for the second project (about half an hour or so).
  • Wednesday the 26th we'll be finishing the project, and talking about the project quiz and the oral and written reports.
  • The oral reports will begin Monday the 1st, beginning with teams 1, 3, and 5.
  • Wednesday the 3rd we'll have the oral reports of teams 2, 4, and 6.
  • The reports will be due Wednesday May 3rd. I'll talk a lot about the written reports, as I'll be looking for something more specific on those than last time.
  • The final exam is Tuesday, May 9 from 5-7 PM in Harvill 150 (the location was listed incorrectly before). Under no conditions will this be given at any other time, so don't even ask.
  • Here's the outline for the final report for project 2, and a guide and grading form for the oral report. Notice the outline of the written report is much skimpier this time.
