Data Selected by Properties : Increasing, Concave Up

FILEDESCRIPTION
AIDSThe total number of cases of AIDS in the USA in 4 month intervals from 1982.
BADMINThis data set was obtained by dropping a badminton shuttlecock and recording its distance as a function of time.
BOTSWANAThe population of Botswana from 1975 to 1990.
BRAKEThe distance in feet a car travels when braking in an emergency stop as a function of the velocity of the car at the time the brakes are applied.
CRABThe claw weight versus body weight of fiddler-crabs.
DENECKEPaul Denecke, The University of Arizona, conducted the following experiment using a VCR equipped with a digital tape-counter. He put a tape in the unit, set the tapecounter to zero, and, as he started the tape playing, noted the time. He then kept recording the time and the number on the tapecounter. This data set was obtained in this way. It shows the number of revolutions - the number on the tapecounter - as a function of time in seconds.
DOVESThe population of the collared dove as it spread throughout Britain from 1955 to 1964.
DUCKWEEDThe results of an experiment in which Duckweed fronds - large compound leaves - were counted every week.
FREEFALLThis shows data that correspond to a sky diver in free fall in a stable spread-eagle position when falling from rest. It shows the sky diver's distance fallen as a function of the time.
HOUSTONThe population of Houston from 1850 to 1980.
JUDGE1NewA subject was given some objects and asked to judge their weights where a 98 gram object was assigned the value 100. This shows the result of such an experiment.
JUMPSThe results of an experiment in which people fell freely from rest from various heights. It shows the distance fallen in feet as a function of time in seconds.
KENYAThe population of Kenya for the period 1955 to 1990 in 5 year intervals.
LEWISThe times achieved every 10 meters by Carl Lewis in the 100 meter final of the World Championship in Rome in 1987.
LIZARDExperiments have been performed where a lizard is encouraged to run as fast as possible, starting from rest. The distance run is then measured as a function of time.
MOTHSNewThe number of acres defoliated by gypsy moths as a function of time.
NSPLAICEThe weight of North Sea plaice as a function of time.
PEND02The period of a nonlinear pendulum as a function of the initial angle.
PLAICEThe results of an experiment relating the weight of plaice to its length.
PLANETSNewThis relates the distance of a planet from the sun to the period of the planet, the time it takes for the planet to orbit the sun, a "year".
SPHEREThe data set was obtained by dropping a Styrofoam ball and recording its distance as a function of time.
TOLUENEThe vapor pressure as a function of temperature of Toluene.
USAPOPThe population of the USA from 1790 to 1990 in 10 year intervals.
WORLDPOPThe world population from 1650 to 1990.
