 Chapters 1 through 7, 8.1 through 8.4, 11, and 12.
As far as selecting material from Chapters 1 through 7 is concerned,
you should note the following:
 Sections 1.4, 2.6, 3.4, 3.5, 4.5, 4.6, and 5.3 are not extensively
used in later sections, and so may be selectively omitted.
Some comments on the dependence of Chapters 8 through 12 follow,
assuming that you have covered Chapters 1 through 7, and Sections 8.1
through 8.4, in the manner previously described.
Sections 8.5 through 8.8 are not critical for later sections.
