  • Calculator
    A graphic calculator is an important tool that will be used in this course. Students are expected to have a working calculator for each test and exam. No calculator swapping is permitted during examination periods.

    Exams
    There will be two in-class tests and a final exam. The tests are scheduled for Tuesday, September 29; and Tuesday, November 10 . The final exam is a common department exam. It is scheduled for Monday, December 14 from 8:00--10:00 am. Additional information and a study guide can be found at http://math.arizona.edu/~calc.     Homework
    Homework Assignment is as posted and are automatically assigned according to the section numbers covered by the lectures at the times. You are responsible for doing assigned problems in a timely manner. However, homework are NOT collected. Instead, there will be a weekly quiz (Tuesday every week, one or more problems in 10-15 minutes). Quiz problems will come directly from the homework assignment for the lectures of the previous week. A final score equivalent to one test, 100 points, will be assigned.

    Grades
    Each in-class test is worth of 100 points and the final worth of 200 points. A final quiz score of 100 points will also be assigned. The total points available on exams and quiz are 500. 450 points (90%) for A; 400 points (80%) for B; 350 points (70%) for C; 300 points (60%) for D.

    Attendance
    Students are expected to attend every scheduled class, and to be familiar with the University Class Attendance policy as it appears in General Catalog. It is the student's responsibility to keep informed of any announcements, syllabus adjustments or policy changes made during scheduled class time.
