  • Homework and Quiz
Homework will be assigned every Thursday and collected by your T.A. at the end of your recital session the week follows. These assigments will also be posted on my Webpage. There is also a weekly quiz at the end of each recital session. Quiz problems will come directly from the homework assignment of the previous Thursday.

For each homework assignment, one randomly picked problem will be graded. The credit you receive for this particular problem will be the credit you receive for the assignment. In particular, if you miss the problem graded, your grade for the corresponding assignment will be zero.

No late homework will be accepted and there will be no make ups for quizzes under any circumstances. At the end, however, two of the lowest homework scores and two of the lowest quizzes scores will be dropped in computing your final grade. Homework and quiz will be counted 15% each in you final grade.

    Examination
There will be three midterms and one final examinations. Midterms are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 19, Tuesday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Nov. 21. The final will be comprehensive and will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2:00-4:00.

If you miss any of the midterms and the final exam, and if within 24 hours you present a well documented excuse showing that for reasons beyond your control it was absolutely impossible for you to take the Exam, then you will give a chance to make it up. In the case of a missing final, if you have a passing grade at the time of the exam, you will receive a grade of an ``I'' for the course.

In all other cases, a score of zero will be assigned for the corresponding exam and your course grade are evaluated accordingly.

Calculator is NOT required and is NOT ALLOWED in any of the exams.
