In the Fall semester, I am planning to cover first four chapters from the textbook. I may also cover some material that is not included in Evans's book; then I will either write notes or provide you with exact references. Homework problems will be assigned on a regular basis. Homework assignments and the dates when they are due will be posted on this web site.

There will be a take-home exam. The final grade will be assigned based on your homework and the exam. No formal point system will be used. The grade ``W'' will be awarded to any student who requests this grade before or on October 16. The grade of ``I'' can be awarded only in an exceptional case to a student who has a valid reason for not completing the course in time (illness, solid family reasons), and who has shown a passing performance in class.

Problem sets:
1. Due on September 8 Problem set 1
2. Due on October 1: Problems 11, 12, 13, 14 from p.p. 87, 88
3. Due on October 22: Problem set 3
Take-home Exam. Due on December 8
