Roles of the Teacher

 

      Identify and prioritize what needs to be learned.

      Distinguish between facts, procedures, and concepts.

      Organize concepts hierarchically.

      Divide what is to be learned into appropriate increments.

      Create or adapt activities that stimulate the development of the desired concept.

      Ask questions that encourage students to reflect on and verbalize their thought process.

      Provide subtasks where needed.

      Regularly evaluate the studentsí understanding.

      Provide wrap-up to ensure that all students have learned the desired concepts.
