Workshop description

This workshop will focus on the use of instructional cases in mathematics teacher education. Cases usually consist of video and/or written records of teaching, lesson plans, student work, and teacher reflections. Cases are constructed so as to highlight particular dilemmas or challenges related to teaching and learning mathematics.

Workshop presenters will engage mathematicians, mathematics educators, and teachers in examining case materials and considering their potential for helping teachers build and connect knowledge of mathematics with knowledge of teaching.
