ABSTRACT It has been found that inertial scaling phenomenologies can be extended to model noninertial statistics of turbulence which is not only interesting but also useful for exploring the viscous and large-scale effects. In this talk I will review the mathematical formulations of quasiscaling theory, as an extension of inertial scaling, as well as their applications, starting from a statistical moment approach and then addressing on the multifractal dimension spectrum and probability density functions. Further possible applications will be disscussed and critical challenges will be remarked on the mathematical aspect. |
