This homework is from sections 7.2 and 7.3 which are particularly
verbose. I encourage you to read them anyway. At
least look through them and make sure the investigations make sense to
you. You can skip the section on Standard Deviations
- pages 422 (Normal Distribution) through the end of page 429.
- Section 7.2. pg 438-440: 20, 21, 38 , 39, 42 (read the section on weighted average for numbers 38 and 39)
- Section 7.3. pg 463-464: 1, 2. For 2b: a "match" is two of the same socks, not 3 of the same socks.
