Labs:
  • Labs will take place on Thursdays. See the lab policy page for more information.

Homework
  • There will be a homework assignment for each section from the book which is covered in class.
  • Each problem should be neatly written, with all intermediate steps included and the problem number clearly marked. Written explanations should be included whenever appropriate.
  • If your homework is too messy or unclear, I will not grade it (and you will not get credit for it).
  • You are encouraged to discuss homework problems with me, with tutors, and especially with each other. However, you are required to write up your own solutions.
  • For each section, I will grade a subset of the assigned exercises.
  • Homework is due in class by 1:00 PM. No homework will be accepted after this time.
  • If you have an excused absence which you know about in advance-e.g., if you have a Dean's excuse-your homework must be turned in at the beginning of the class period preceding your absence.
  • Please staple your homework. I am not responsible for keeping track of multi-page assignments that are not stapled together.
  • Please do not use spiral notebook paper (or cut off the fringes if you do).

Quizzes
  • There may be occasional quizzes, particularly if there is evidence that people are not doing the assigned reading.
