Read the instructions given below.
- Solve Lesson 5e.
- Refer to Exercise 54 in Sect. 4.2. (You are not asked to solve Exercise 54. You are merely, at this point, asked to refer to Exercise 54.)
- Use the formula given in Exercise 54 for
[ f(x+h) - f(x)]/h
to find the average rate of change of f on an interval [ p, p+h ]. (DO NOT do the calculation all over again; use the answer given in Exercise 54.)- Use the previous answer (the answer you obtained in part (i)) to find the average rate of change of f on an interval [ p, q ]. (DO NOT do the calculation all over again; use the answer obtained above.)
