Lesson 37b

NOTE 1: Be sure to read Homework Format, Homework Writing Policy, and Explanations Expected BEFORE writing up your solutions to be turned in.

NOTE 2: When two or more Lessons are to be turned in on the same day, please staple the Lessons separately and turn them in separately.

Due Monday, November 30.

Sect. 6.3:
Be sure to note that there are many more exercises suggested in the list of suggested homework posted online.

Exercises  24*,  34(a)(a'')*** .
*   For Exercise 24, read and follow the instructions in Lesson 37a for Exercise 24. As always, you should also follow the instructions given at the references above and below (Homework Format, etc.).

*** 34(a'') Add to Exercise 34 the following:
(a'') In the sketch in the textbook (the relevant portions of which should OF COURSE be included with your homework solutions), the angle between the radii  OP  and  OQ  is given to be  π/2.  Change this angle between  OP  and  OQ  to an arbitrary angle  β,  so that the angle between  OP  and  OQ  is  β.  (The preceding sentence is intentionally redundant in the hope that you will understand what it is saying.) Determine the coordinates of the point  Q  in terms of the angle  θ + β.

(Note that you are not asked to solve Exercise 34(b).)
NOTE:
These problems have instructions in the textbook.
These problems have instructions given above.
You are expected to note the instructions.
You are expected to read the instructions.
You are expected to follow the instructions.
You will lose points -- perhaps a substantial number of points -- if you do not read and follow the instructions.

NOTE 1: Be sure to read Homework Format, Homework Writing Policy, and Explanations Expected BEFORE writing up your solutions to be turned in.

NOTE: As stated on the Course Home Page, all due dates are tentative. Assignments, or parts of assignments, may be postponed to a later date.
