Lesson 52a-52b

NOTE 1: Be sure to read Homework Format, Homework Writing Policy, and Explanations Expected BEFORE writing up your solutions to be turned in.

NOTE 2: When two or more Lessons are to be turned in on the same day, please staple the Lessons separately and turn them in separately.

Lesson 52a. Due Friday, December 4.

Sect. 8.4:
Be sure to note that there are many more exercises suggested in the list of suggested homework posted online.

Give exact answers whenever the solutions involve “special angles” such as  0,  π/6,  π/4,  π/3,  π/2,  etc.
Otherwise, give an exact answer using an inverse trig function together with a decimal approxiation with three significant figures.
Exercises  17*,  42,  44.
Exercises  32,  46,  48,  and  50,  originally due Dec 4, have been postponed (see below).
* Change the equation in Exercise 17 so that there is a 2 in front of the first term; the equation will be
    2cos2t sint - sint  =  0.
In this exercise, you don't have to find ALL solutions, just solutions in the interval  [0, 2π ].

Your answers may have to involve WORDS and EXPLANATIONS and SENTENCES.

NOTE:
These problems have instructions given above.
These problems have instructions in the textbook.
You are expected to note the instructions.
You are expected to read the instructions.
You are expected to follow the instructions.
You will lose points -- perhaps a substantial number of points -- if you do not read and follow the instructions.
