The first MathCats meeting of the 2005-06 academic year was held on August 25,
2005 at 5 pm in
Math East.
With n > 30 members in attendance, we solved
Chris's problem
of candy bar optimization among five greedy, rational students. Then we broke out the Rubik's cubes (as usual) and fell into general
discussion, debate, and cookie-consumption. The meeting was officially adjourned at 6 pm,
but members were still in the building past 7 pm. Homeworks were attempted,
cubes were solved, and a good time was had by all...
