See what's going on at other universities, high schools, and middle schools across the country in celebration of Math Awareness Month.

Ocean Circulation
Here are some fact sheets about the ocean. The University of Miami has a numerical ocean circulation model, as do other research labs.

Atmospheric Circulation
Here are some lecture notes on the general circulation of the atmosphere. We can also learn about the atmosphere of Mars.

General Circulation Models (GCMs) Learn about these climate models at this page from the University of Wyoming.

Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology
Very roughly, this is the study of storms and clouds on the large (mesoscale) and small (microscale) length scales. A research group at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, which has a numerical forecast model. This page shows their current research, and has some really neat diagrams accompanying the descriptions.

Tornadoes
The National Severe Storms Laboratory studies tornadoes. Their site includes an information sheet and a tutorial.

Hurricanes
The Atlantic Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory can tell you all you want to know about hurricanes.

Planetary/global warming
This is an environmental problem of great concern, and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies has information on it. El Nino is a possibly related event, where a change in the ocean currents that has been linked to dramatic changes in our weather patterns.

Magnetic Pole Reversal
What would happen if the magnetic north pole turned south? Apparently this has happened in the past, according to researchers studying magnetic flip-flops
