Mathematics 501

Kevin Wampler, Mathematics and Computer Science major at the U of A

Perhaps nowhere else is the connection between mathematics and art made so explicit as it is in computer graphics.  In this field there are countless examples of uncovering the mathematical nature of objects which are portrayed in art, and of the techniques employed in the creation of an artistic piece.  A few small examples of modeling and rendering in this union between mathematics, art and computers will be presented.
