PLEASE READ THIS FILE FROM TIME TO TIME TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY NEW INSTRUCTIONS. INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE LISTED WITH THE DATE AND THE COURSE NUMBER SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO KNOW IF IT APPLIES TO YOU OR NOT. January 22, 2008 I have correctly uploaded the file for the final exam of 564 from last semester. Since I want the new students to try their hand at it, I have blocked out the solutions. The continuing students in 566 can ask me for an e-mail copy of the solutions. It is a good idea for BOTH 562 and 566 students to see how comfortable they are with this exam. As I mentioned in the class, this is by no means a hard exam. February 4, 2008 Math 566 The solutions for the test are now posted. February 7, 2008 Math 566 The make-up session will be in Math 501 on Saturday February 23 from 11-12.15 and 12.45 to 2. ONLY the north main doors to the building will be open from 11 to 1.30. February 13, 2008 Math 566 Add problems 5.32,36,41,42,44,53,54 for possible homework problems. I will give you till next Thursday to ask questions about any of them. I will assign more homework from chapter 5 on Thursday. Read 5.53 to be the following. Take the observed sample in the problem. Assign equal probabilities to all. Take a sample of size 13 with replacement, compute the sample variance. Do this enough number of times to plot the approximation to the sampling distribution of the sample variance. Comment on the assumption that the original sample came from a Poisson distribution. February 14, 2008 Math 566 Because of a request, I am posting the solutions for the homework problems from last semester. February 23, 2008 Math 566 I forgot to identify possible homework problems from chapter 6. Here they are 6.2,6,9,11,15,17, 19, 30, 32,33. May 7, 2008 Problems identified from chapter 8 are 1,2,5,6,7,8,12,13,14,15,17,18,20,22,23,31,32,37
