About Me


Me at Slide Rock in Sedona, Arizona

I am a graduate student in Applied Mathematics at the University of Arizona. I am a Southern Arizona native, born in the city of Douglas, moving up to Tucson as a teenager. I graduated from the UofA in 2009 with Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and General/Applied Mathematics. Now as a graduate student, I am interested in a number of topics including Reliability and Statistics.

Fall '11 - Present
I am working in affiliation with Dr. Watkins and The Hammer Lab regarding statistics and biological information.

Fall '10 - Spring '11
RTG Project- I investigated the use of differential geometry with relation to statistical inference under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Watkins. This is the presentation for the Applied Math Brown Bag Colloquiem

Spring '10
Term paper project- I investigated the properties of numerical integration with respect to hybrid dynamical systems under the supervision of Dr. Ricardo Sanfelice, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. This is the submitted report.

Fall '09
MATH 586, Case Studies in Applied Mathematics- As part of a laboratory project, I investigated the properties of water upon its impact onto a hydrophobic (water-resistant) surface. This is the report and the accompanying presentation.


From undergraduate

Spring '09
MATH 485, Mathematical Modeling- As a project for the class, I worked with a group investigating crowd dynamics and ways to model them. This is the report and poster

Summer '08
University of Arizona REU- I worked as part of a group investigating properties and computational implementation of differential geometry. This research, which culminated in a final report, was under the supervision of Dr. David Glickenstein

Summer '07
Mathematical Sciences Research Institute Undergraduate Program (MSRI-UP)- I worked on a project investigating an adaptation of a classification algorithm. This culminated in a report and presentation. A poster on my group's findings was presented at the 2007 SACNAS conference

Otherwise I am a typical University of Arizona student. I'm a big fan of music, movies, and video games.
