The attribution to Ross is uncertain. The two halves do not quite fit together and may be parts of a larger set. The label is mysterious. Classical cube and square root blocks, sold widely at the time Ross was making his models, demonstrated the formulas for (a + b)^2 and (a + b)^3 .
