Modeling UV Filamentation
Alejandro Aceves
Department of Mathematics, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX
Filamentation of ultraviolet light in the atmosphere can be achieved using long (picosecond) temporal pulses. This property suggests more robustness against temporal instabilities. This has been confirmed by recent experiments showing stable propagation for 3–4 meters. In this talk by use of continuation methods we obtain stationary solutions that match well the experimental output.
