Curriculum Vitae

My research specialties are geophysical fluid
dynamics, scientific computing, and uncertainty quantification.
My primary teaching responsibilities are in numerical analysis and scientific computing,
as well as applied analysis.
My most important service activity is to promote science and advise young scientists from
under-represented groups.

I also consult in architectural, engineering, and physical acoustics.
Prior to becoming a scientist I was a professional musician.
My technical training is in applied mathematics
and physics. I also have training in electrical engineering and
engineering acoustics.
