SWRIMS Fourier Workshop
TI-82 Programs
To do harmonic analysis (i.e., compute fourier coefficients) on a TI calculator,
you will want to perform the following steps:
-
Get the original data to be studied into the calculator. The subsequent
programs assume that the data is stored in list L1 of the calculator.
-
If you have a TI CBL with a microphone, then the program GETFROMCBL
will sample data and store it in list L1. (If you'd like more information
on CBL, connect to Texas
Instruments .)
-
If you want to enter a function by formula, then the program GETL1FROMFUNC
will sample the function and store it in list L1.
-
Calculate Fourier coefficients using the program CALCFOURIER
.
-
Graph the original data and the Fourier approximation using the program
GRAPHFOURIER .
