Homework from a section of the book will be due whenever we move on to the next section; for example, the problems assigned for Section 2.1 on Sep 6 and 7 will be due on Sep 8.

In the second week of the course, there will be a quiz on basic algebra/trig skills, which will involve many skills where calculus students often make mistakes. The quiz will count towards your homework score, and will be equal in point value to one week of homework. We will not be preparing specifically for this quiz in class, and calculators will not be allowed on the qiuz. There are review materials available at http://prep.math.lsa.umich.edu/pmc/ which you can use for this purpose.
