Textbook: "Linear Algebra Done Right", by Sheldon Axler
You might also be interested in this free online book which is very much in the same spirit as Axler's book. If you prefer, you should feel free to read the corresponding parts of it in lieu of Axler (although you will be responsible for knowing Axler for the exams).

Syllabus: The plan is to cover the whole book.

Exams: There will be two in-class exams, on Friday, September 25 and Friday, October 30; the exams for students in Math 513 will have an extra take-home portion.
